A little History

The farm Yakandonga is situated on a 5,300 Ha peace of land with a rich history, starting from the Colonial German time, and the German/Herero wars. During this time it was used as German army base. The main farm house used to be a German Fort, where the German troops stayed.  The last German Family that lived here was the De Vries family.

But for the past 35 yrs Yakandonga is in family hands and have been managed and developed into one of Namibia's better lodges.  The farm is mainly bushfeld area and is proclaimed a private nature reserve with more than 17 Game species and an abundance of bird life.
